Miranda Kerr is pretty in peach at fashion dinner

It was a stylish event with a guestlist that boasted a host of A-listers and the crème of the fashion industry.
But it was Miranda Kerr who commanded the attention at the Council of Fashion Designers of American and Vogue dinner in New York on Tuesday, showing off her fashion prowess – not to mention her stunning physique – in a peach and black gown.
The Victoria’s Secret supermodel played up her maxi dress to perfection, twirling for the cameras as she pouted and posed on the red carpet. She paired the pretty Giulietta creation with platform Mary Janes and a little black clutch.
Inside, Miranda joined other famous faces including Emma Stone, Liv Tyler, Christina Ricci and Dakota Fanning.
Emma Stone looked stunning, putting her svelte frame on display in a black bodice that she teamed with a dazzling green sequinned skirt. And Liv opted for a more demure look in a high necked and long sleeved patterned dress.
A host of fashion designers joined the A-list crowd, including Burberry’s Christopher Bailey and Diane von Furstenberg. The dinner was to raise funds for emerging designers, in order to give them the opportunity to become better known.
Australian beauty Miranda’s appearance comes only a week after her stunning turn on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk. The mum-of-one, who is married to Orlando Bloom, was angelic as she took to the glittering runway in an enormous pair of white swan feather wings.
And in a recent interview, she explained why modelling the tiny lingerie isn’t an issue for her. “I believe in celebrating the female figure and embracing what we’ve been given, not hiding that,” she told Esquire magazine.
Asked whether she has any rules on posing without her clothes on, she said: “I don’t really think of rules, as long as it’s classy and timeless and it’s something I wouldn’t be ashamed of.”
Miranda married movie star Orlando in 2010, just one month after announcing their plans to wed. Lord of the Rings star Orlando – who previously romanced actress Kate Bosworth – began dating the cover girl in 2007.
They welcomed their little boy Flynn in early 2011. “We are so happy and are enjoying our time together as a family,” the 27-year-old said in a statement after the birth.
“He is our little ray of sunshine,” added the proud mum.
She revealed she didn’t use pain relief for what turned out to be a “long arduous and difficult labour. He weighed 9lb 12 ounces (a very healthy and big baby boy),” Miranda added. “I gave birth to him naturally.”

FSM Style Guide – This Fall’s Fashion

In many arenas these days, it’s—to borrow a phrase from Beyoncé—girls who run the world (and where they don’t, perhaps they should). So what more appropriate message to see on fall’s runways than that of empowerment, with the best designers in New York, London, Milan, and Paris offering strong, chic, individual women new ways of dressing. The mood is adult and polished, with major embellishment, geometric prints, rich color, and lots of wonderful statement coats (that sometimes aren’t coats at all, but dresses or the like). In fact the shows effectively captured the extremism, wit, color, and imaginative spirit that will be celebrated this spring and summer when the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art displays the work of Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli—two of fashion’s strongest women if ever there were.
As they say, the devil is in the details. The Fall 2012 runways brought a moody elegance to accessories, with broody hues on the new high boot, work-ready portfolios, oversized totes and more — all topped off with the season’s metal of choice — silver.
There are approximately one million fall trends this season (we’ve been keeping close track), and separating the wheat from the straight-to-sale rack can feel like an effort in futility. What new purchases will really last you your whole life…or, at least, the next five years? Which trends are actually worth investing in? Kristen Stewart bares in black lace jumpsuit at the London Twilight premiere

Okay, it’s official. Kristen Stewart is definitely making some sort of a point with her fashion selections these past few weeks. First it was that black and white Balenciaga cut out jumpsuit, then it was the skin tight leather ALC number and not forgetting the risque Zuhair Murad dress from earlier this week which caused much controversy amongst the fashion crowd. Tonight, for the London premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Kristen proved she was not fazed by all the talk.
Kristen hit the red carpet alongside co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner wearing her designer of choice for the second time this week, Zuhair Murad. Contrasting to her barely there nude dress in LA, this evening’s jumpsuit consisted of black gothic lace, sheer mesh front and side panels and fully embellished trouser area. Coming from the designer’s Couture Skin Flowers for Fall 2012 / 2013, there’s no denying the jumpsuit suits her new reformed bad-girl with attitude style.
What do you make of her London red carpet look? And how does it compare to her premiere dress earlier this week? Let us know what you think in the comments below,

Building a Mascara Wardrobe for the Lashes

Makeup artist Alice Lane is talking mascara. “Right now, I’m obsessed with Tom Ford’s Extreme formula. It’s got this big fat wand and it’s really, really black. It’s gorgeous. Fantastic. That’s what I use at night,” she says, before firing off a list of versatile, high-tech favorites—including M.A.C.’s Haute & Naughty (“amazing for bottom lashes”) and Topshop’s classic mascara (“a great chocolate brown for day”)—that she carries around in her kit.
Lane may be a professional, but the idea of creating a versatile mascara wardrobe—one supernatural lash stain for the weekend, another lengthening and separating formula for the office, a fattening and thickening alternative for parties, a waterproof tint for the gym—has made its way to the mainstream in recent years.
With beauty companies turning out better, smarter, longer-lasting pigments for fall—Clinique’s Bottom Lashes formula contains smudge-proof, thermally activated polymers that dissolve only in the presence of hot water, while Dior’s New Look is loaded with shiny, patented 3-D black-glass pigments—the possibilities can seem overwhelming. Here, Vogue sorts through the season’s best new and existing formulas in the service of rounding out your collection.
